Why Boracay?
I originally came to Boracay for just one month in 2025. Within days I knew I wasn’t ready to leave. I returned in February 2026 and plan to stay until the end of the year. Having now visited around 10 Philippine islands, Boracay remains my clear favourite.
First Impressions

- Crystal-clear turquoise water.
- Powder-soft white sand.
- Relaxed island atmosphere.
- Mention that it’s surprising Boracay isn’t more popular with British travellers considering how spectacular it is.
What Makes Boracay Special?

- Home to the famous White Beach, named after its incredibly fine, powdery white sand.
- Consistently regarded as one of Asia’s most beautiful beaches.
- Despite its popularity, the beach is long enough that it rarely feels overcrowded.
- Incredible sunsets every evening that become a daily event.
A Holiday for Every Type of Traveller
One of Boracay’s biggest strengths is its versatility.
For those wanting to relax
- Quiet stretches of beach.
- Luxury resorts.
- Beachfront massages.
- Stunning sunsets.
- Plenty of space to unwind.

For those wanting nightlife
- Vibrant bars and clubs.
- Live music: lots of bands and singers in the bars.
- Beach clubs very popular for sunsets.
- Party atmosphere until the early hours.
- Easy to socialise without feeling overwhelming.
Understanding the Three Stations

Explain the layout of White Beach
Station 1:
- Most upmarket area
- Wider beach
- Luxury hotels
- Quieter atmosphere
Station 2:
- Heart of the action
- Restaurants, shopping and nightlife
- Best for first-time visitors
Station 3:
- More laid-back
- Budget-friendly accommodation
- Popular with backpackers and longer-stay visitors
Food & drink
- Huge variety of international cuisine
- Excellent restaurants from around the world:
- Prices are slightly higher than Thailand or Malaysia but still excellent value by UK standards.

Local Filipino cuisine is inexpensive but an acquired taste – not great for street food like other Asia countries.
However, highly recommend trying Bangus (Milkfish) a local favourite and one of the tastiest fish I have ever had (only available in the Philippines).
Best things to do

- Sunset Paraw Sailing (around £25 pp) – the classic Boracay experience.
- Island hopping
- Scuba diving
- Snorkelling
- Party cruises
- Parasailing
- Paddleboarding
- Helmet diving
- Jet skis and other watersports
- Sunset cocktails along White Beach
